چکیده

The buckling of rate dependent structures is not a topic often discussed in the literature. Methods to predict such exist, but only few experimental works have been published, and even less when considering thick shell structures. In this work we are interested elasto-visco-plastic hemi-egg shells. We follow modelling/experimental approach analyse problem. Buckling experiments at room temperature on shells subjected external pressure performed. 3D digital image correlation used measure displacement fields inner surface during experiments. Due specimen shape their loading, they experience non-proportional load paths. effect path behaviour has already many times literature for elasto-plastic materials. This also intends assess point material. A prediction model couples Bodner’s with deformation theory. It estimate critical modes based preliminary finite element analysis. effects geometrical loading imperfections discussed. Finally, results compared predictions. good observed between numerical

Buckling Analysis of Functionally Graded Shallow Spherical Shells Under External Hydrostatic Pressure

The aim of this paper is to determine the critical buckling load for simply supported thin shallow spherical shells made of functionally graded material (FGM) subjected to uniform external pressure. A metal-ceramic functionally graded (FG) shell with a power law distribution for volume fraction is considered, where its properties vary gradually through the shell thickness direction from pure me...

Stability Analysis of Laminated Cylindrical Shells under Combined Axial Compression and Non-Uniform External Pressure

This study investigates geometrical non-linear analysis of composite circular cylindrical shells under external pressure over part of their surfaces and also shells subjected to combined axial compression and triangular external pressure. Donnell non-linear shell theory along with first order shear deformation theory (FOSD) are adopted in the analysis. In the case of combined axial compression ...

elasto-plastic analysis of thick walled tanks subjected to internal pressure

in this article, the elasto-plastic analysis of thick walled fg tanks subjected to internal pressure is elaborated. today, thick walled tanks containing liquids with high pressure are used in the chemical industries. the high internal pressure causes part of the thickness of reservoir to yield; therefore, we need the elasto-plastic analysis. in this study, elasto-plastic behavior of fg cylindri...

An elasto-visco-plastic model of cell aggregates.

Concentrated cell suspensions exhibit different mechanical behavior depending on the mechanical stress or deformation they undergo. They have a mixed rheological nature: cells behave elastically or viscoelastically, they can adhere to each other whereas the carrying fluid is usually Newtonian. We report here on a new elasto-visco-plastic model which is able to describe the mechanical properties...

Numerical Analysis of Delamination Buckling in Composite Cylindrical Shell under Uniform External Pressure: Cohesive Element Method

Nowadays, due to high ratio of strength to weight, composite cylindrical shells are extensively used in a great variety of different industrial applications and under different cases of loads. In this study, the buckling of composite cylindrical shells was examined under uniform external pressure. The buckling analysis of composite cylindrical shells was first done by using theoretical relation...
